Welcome to the premier issue of “Tech Talk,” which has been created to highlight the funding, facilities and services offered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) to support the growth of technology businesses in New Jersey.

EDA’s commitment of resources to benefit technology companies s supports my vision for the Edison Innovation Fund, which the State of New Jersey is developing as part of our larger economic growth strategy. We are committed to providing innovative funding vehicles to technology and life sciences companies that promote business and job growth. Technology and the life sciences have long been leading forces driving our state’s economy and our intention is to ensure that we nurture an environment that provides the appropriate support to enable these industries to succeed and thrive in New Jersey.

The EDA offers a continuum of resources to technology and life sciences businesses, including technical support and mentoring services, financing and incentive tools, and real estate expertise and modern technology facilities, as these companies advance through their life cycle of growth and expand their products and services.

The EDA’s Tech Talk newsletter, also available online at www.njedatechniuum.com, features stories about the early-stage and established technology and life sciences businesses taking advantage of the EDA’s broad-based support as well as the modern, affordable facilities the EDA makes available to foster their growth and advancement. The newsletter will provide updates on EDA funding activity and new technology developments as they are implemented. Where appropriate, it will focus on a host of other issues and activities important to the technology and life sciences community in New Jersey.
